The Opportunity:
As a Qualified Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching staff and students with learning and behaviour needs. This is a rewarding role that contributes directly to the educational and personal development of students, helping them return to mainstream learning with confidence and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons for both whole-class and individual learners.
- Prepare and manage resources to support engaging and effective learning activities.
- Provide pastoral support to students, ensuring their well-being and emotional needs are met.
- Contribute to the evaluation of student progress and provide feedback to class teachers.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to achieve positive learning outcomes.
- Support students with special educational needs, following best practice and safeguarding procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with staff and parents.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and support strategies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade A* - C / 9 - 4, including English and Maths.
- NVQ / VRQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent.
- Considerable experience in class supervision and assisting with lesson provision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of Every Child Matters, safeguarding practices, and the SEND Code of Practice.
Preferred
- Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Experience working with children and young people with additional needs.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
