The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Reception Teacher, Maternity Cover to join our Early Years team at our Elmore Street site starting September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum in a nurturing and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the EYFS framework
- Support children's development across all areas of learning, fostering curiosity, creativity, and confidence
- Create stimulating and individualised lesson plans tailored to the needs of each child
- Manage the classroom with a positive and effective approach to behaviour management
- Communicate regularly with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a cohesive learning experience
- Collaborate with the Early Years team to maintain a consistent and high-quality educational environment
- Promote an inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and supported
- Participate in ongoing professional development and reflective practice to enhance teaching methods
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience within early years settings
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised qualification
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
- Ability to create stimulating lesson plans tailored to individual needs
- Excellent classroom management skills with a positive approach to behaviour management
- Effective communication skills with children, parents, and colleagues
Preferred
- Experience with teaching in a school transitioning to a full primary setting
- Familiarity with thematic and cross-curricular teaching methods
- Experience with preparing students for 11+ entry to London day schools
- Knowledge of drama, Philosophy for Children, or Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning teaching methods
