The Opportunity:

We are seeking a friendly and dynamic Receptionist/Administrator to join our admin team at a specialist SEN academy. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, front-facing environment and is passionate about supporting students with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a high volume of incoming calls, emails, and in-person inquiries with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Maintain a welcoming and supportive reception environment, ensuring a positive first impression for all visitors.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including managing records, scheduling, and coordinating with other departments.
  • Support the smooth operation of the office by assisting team members with various duties as required.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of all student, staff, and family information at all times.
  • Use Microsoft Office 365 and Arbor systems to manage daily tasks and support the academy's operations.
  • Maintain a calm, patient, and professional demeanor in a busy and often demanding environment.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the academy by upholding its mission and values in daily work practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and manage a busy workload.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and experience with Arbor systems.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in all matters.
  • A minimum of 1 year of administrative or reception experience, preferably in an educational setting.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a special needs or SEN environment.
  • Knowledge of education sector processes and procedures.
  • Previous experience with school management systems.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • A good sense of humour and a friendly, approachable personality.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and pro rata entitlements.
  • 5 Staff Development Days per year.
  • 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a half-hour lunch break.
  • Term-time only position with additional benefits.
