Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs both in and out of the classroom.
  • Work closely with teachers to deliver high-quality, individualized learning experiences.
  • Assist in developing students’ social, cognitive, and emotional skills.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Ensure a safe, positive, and encouraging learning environment for all students.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs where required.
  • Encourage and motivate students to achieve their goals and aspirations.
  • Participate in planning and delivering activities that support learning and development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Relevant Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or early years certification.
  • Knowledge of moving and handling techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of patience, empathy, and resilience.

Preferred

  • Previous experience working with students aged 4–19 with moderate to complex learning difficulties.
  • Background in early years education or SEND support.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Knowledge of child development and behavior management strategies.
