The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Registrar to join our team. This role is central to managing the admissions process for 11+ and 16+ entry and for occasional vacancies. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring a smooth and efficient admissions experience for prospective students and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the admissions process for 11+ and 16+ entry, including occasional vacancies.
  • Deliver admissions and induction events to prospective students and their families.
  • Liaise with a range of staff from different departments to ensure a cohesive approach to admissions.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with the Assistant Registrar and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies, procedures, and legal requirements related to admissions.
  • Support the Head and other senior staff in the administration of the school.
  • Provide clear and accurate communication to applicants, parents, and staff throughout the admissions process.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the admissions process and make recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • In-depth knowledge of schools, particularly in the independent sector.
  • Relevant experience in a school environment, with a focus on admissions and administration.
  • Excellent communication and ICT skills.
  • High emotional intelligence, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with admissions processes for both 11+ and 16+ entry.
  • Experience in managing events and liaising with a range of stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with the use of school management systems and software.
  • Experience in a similar role within an independent school setting.
