As an Assistant Subject Leader for Modern Foreign Languages, you will play a key role in leading and supporting a successful department that values language learning and student achievement. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Subject Leader in managing and developing the Modern Foreign Languages department.
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in French and German across all key stages.
- Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and assessment strategies.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve student engagement and achievement.
- Mentor and support trainee teachers and early career teachers.
- Promote a culture of continuous professional development within the department.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to the wider academic and pastoral life of the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Modern Foreign Languages.
- Proven ability to teach French to A Level.
- Strong classroom management and teaching skills.
- Experience in a leadership or mentoring role within a school setting.
- Commitment to student achievement and personal development.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Preferred
- Experience teaching German at Key Stage 3.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and use of technology in education.
- Experience in a selective or high-achieving school environment.
- Leadership experience in a subject department.
