School Chaplain needed to support young people in their faith development at a successful Catholic school.

The Opportunity:

As a School Chaplain, you will play a vital role in supporting students aged 11–18 in exploring and deepening their Catholic faith. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead liturgies, Masses, and faith-based activities, while fostering strong links between the school, parish, and wider Catholic community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and lead a programme of liturgies and Masses throughout the academic year.
  • Work closely with RE staff, Heads of Year, and local priests to plan and deliver meaningful faith-based experiences.
  • Support and train students in liturgical roles such as readers, servers, and members of the Society of Saint Joseph.
  • Organise and oversee student-led charity initiatives and community service projects.
  • Provide weekly opportunities for prayer and reflection tailored to student needs and interests.
  • Ensure all liturgical spaces are set up and maintained in collaboration with relevant staff.
  • Develop and deliver resources, such as service sheets and multimedia materials, to support student participation in Mass and liturgy.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to Catholic education.
  • Experience in pastoral care or youth ministry, ideally within a school or parish setting.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, students, and parish representatives.
  • Experience in planning and delivering liturgical events and Masses.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or coordinating student groups or faith-based initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Catholic liturgy and sacramental programmes.
  • Experience with youth charity work or community service projects.
  • Familiarity with Catholic Youth Services and related programmes.
