The Opportunity:

Join a school in its exciting phase of growth and development as a Mathematics Teacher Trainee. This role offers the opportunity to gain a one-year initial teacher training course, with the potential for permanent employment upon successful completion. The trainee will be supported through a bespoke development programme and will play a key role in inspiring students and contributing to the co-curricular life of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in developing a strong understanding of Mathematics through engaging and effective teaching
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that align with the school’s vision for academic excellence
  • Work closely with an experienced mentor to enhance teaching practice and professional development
  • Contribute to the co-curricular life of the school by participating in extracurricular activities and events
  • Take on a gradually increasing timetable, with support from the school’s dedicated training programme
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth
  • Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve teaching and learning practices
  • Engage in regular reflection and feedback to ensure continuous improvement in teaching performance

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A strong undergraduate degree in Mathematics or a related subject
  • Commitment to completing a one-year initial teacher training course
  • Willingness to self-fund the course fees
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students

Preferred

  • Prior teaching or tutoring experience
  • Experience with curriculum development or lesson planning
  • Familiarity with the UK education system
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL or TEFL)

Compensation & Benefits:

  • £29,000 DfE Bursary if eligible
