Geography Teacher Training opportunity available for graduates. Train-to-Teach Geography from September 2026.

The Opportunity:
Join a dynamic school as a Geography Teacher Trainee and embark on a one-year initial teacher training course. This role offers the potential for permanent employment following successful completion of the course and an application process. The trainee will be supported by experienced mentors and will contribute to both academic and co-curricular life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Geography lessons to students aged 11-16
- Develop and implement engaging and innovative teaching strategies
- Work closely with an experienced mentor to enhance teaching practice
- Participate in the school’s bespoke initial teacher training development programme
- Contribute to the co-curricular life of the school
- Support student progress and achievement through effective assessment and feedback
- Maintain accurate records and follow school policies and procedures
- Engage in continuous professional development and collaboration with colleagues
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A strong undergraduate degree (2:2 or above)
- Eligibility for a DfE Bursary of £5,000 if applicable
- Commitment to train-to-teach Geography
- Willingness to self-fund the ITT course fees
- Ability to inspire enthusiasm for Geography
- Flexibility to take on a growing timetable over the course of the year
Preferred
- Prior experience in education or related fields
- Experience with teaching Geography or related subjects
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with curriculum development and delivery
- Passion for working with young people and supporting their development
Compensation & Benefits:
- DfE Bursary of £5,000 if eligible
