The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated School Cleaner to ensure all areas of the school are kept to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. This role is essential in supporting the wellbeing of students and staff, and plays a key part in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets, and communal areas to a high standard
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors as required
• Empty bins and dispose of waste in accordance with school procedures
• Replenish cleaning supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet rolls
• Report any maintenance issues, damages, or health and safety concerns
• Ensure cleaning equipment is used and stored safely
• Follow all health and safety and COSHH regulations
• Support deep cleaning during school holidays or scheduled periods

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Previous cleaning experience (school or similar environment desirable)
• Knowledge of basic cleaning methods and safe use of cleaning equipment
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Good attention to detail and high standards of work
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
• Understanding of health and safety practices

Preferred

• Basic literacy and numeracy skills

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly based on the National Living Wage
• Permanent contract, Monday - Friday, 2pm - 6pm
