The Opportunity:

As a School Librarian, you will play a vital role in supporting students, teachers, and the wider school community. This is an opportunity to make a real impact in a school that is dedicated to empowering young people through leadership and academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the school library and its resources to ensure they are accessible and up to date.
  • Support teaching and learning by providing relevant resources and materials to students and staff.
  • Promote reading and a love of learning through engaging library programs and events.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of library-based learning activities and projects.
  • Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum.
  • Ensure the library is a welcoming, safe, and inclusive space for all users.
  • Maintain accurate records of library stock and usage.
  • Provide guidance and support to students on research, information literacy, and study skills.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A NVQ Level 1/Level 2 or equivalent qualification, or relevant experience.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills to GCSE standard or equivalent.
  • Experience in an administrative or reception role.
  • Experience of working within an educational environment.
  • The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students and colleagues.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school library or similar setting.
  • Knowledge of library management systems and cataloguing procedures.
  • Experience in delivering library-based learning activities or events.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
