Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the school library and its resources to ensure they are accessible and up to date.
- Support teaching and learning by providing relevant resources and materials to students and staff.
- Promote reading and a love of learning through engaging library programs and events.
- Assist with the development and delivery of library-based learning activities and projects.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum.
- Ensure the library is a welcoming, safe, and inclusive space for all users.
- Maintain accurate records of library stock and usage.
- Provide guidance and support to students on research, information literacy, and study skills.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A NVQ Level 1/Level 2 or equivalent qualification, or relevant experience.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills to GCSE standard or equivalent.
- Experience in an administrative or reception role.
- Experience of working within an educational environment.
- The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students and colleagues.
Preferred
- Experience in a school library or similar setting.
- Knowledge of library management systems and cataloguing procedures.
- Experience in delivering library-based learning activities or events.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
