The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher and KS4 Coordinator to join a successful and well-resourced Science Department. This role involves teaching across the age and ability range, including A Level, and leading the KS4 curriculum. The ideal candidate will inspire students and contribute to the school’s continued academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Science across all key stages, including A Level, ensuring high-quality learning experiences.
  • Coordinate and lead the KS4 curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all students and aligns with school goals.
  • Develop and deliver engaging, practical lessons that promote student achievement and interest in Science.
  • Support and mentor other Science teachers, contributing to the professional development of the department.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the school’s overall academic performance and student outcomes.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to support learning and development.
  • Participate in the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and community engagement.
  • Maintain up-to-date and well-organized records of student performance and attendance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant Science degree and QTS.
  • Experience teaching Science at Key Stages 3 and 4, including A Level.
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills, with experience in curriculum development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Specialism in Biology.
  • Experience in leading or coordinating a department.
  • Familiarity with Catholic values and ethos.
  • Experience with CPD and professional development initiatives.
