The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality English lessons to students across Key Stages 3 to 5, including A-level groups.
- Develop and implement engaging and effective teaching strategies that support student progress and achievement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance departmental pedagogy and curriculum design.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students, ensuring their academic and personal needs are met.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the planning and delivery of the English curriculum.
- Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practice and subject knowledge.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
- Proven ability to deliver outstanding lessons and support student achievement.
- Strong subject knowledge in English and a passion for teaching the subject.
- Experience working in a school setting, preferably within a large and successful department.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection, with the ability to meet the requirements of an enhanced DBS check.
Preferred
- Experience in delivering A-level English courses.
- Familiarity with curriculum development and pedagogical best practices.
- Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and supporting diverse student needs.
- Leadership experience or the potential to take on a mentoring role within the department.
