The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Science Teacher to join a well-resourced and successful department. The role involves teaching across the age and ability range, up to A Level, and contributing to the wider life of the school. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons to students across all key stages, including A Level.
  • Develop and implement engaging and practical teaching strategies that bring Science to life.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance departmental performance and student outcomes.
  • Support the development of students’ scientific knowledge, skills, and enthusiasm.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular activities and pastoral care.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Science education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Maintain accurate records and report student progress to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant Science subject knowledge.
  • Experience teaching Science at Key Stages 3 and 4, with experience of A Level teaching preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on leadership responsibilities where appropriate.

Preferred

  • Specialism in Biology.
  • Experience in a Catholic or faith-based educational setting.
  • Experience in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and leadership opportunities.
  • Familiarity with the use of technology in Science teaching.
