The Opportunity:
As a Science Teacher and KS5 Coordinator, you will play a key role in inspiring students and leading the development of the Science Faculty. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the delivery of Science teaching and learning across Key Stage 5.
- Support the Head of Subject in driving continuous improvement in Science education.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to raise student achievement and engagement in Science.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and innovate in Science teaching.
- Manage the curriculum and ensure it meets the highest standards and prepares students for further study.
- Promote a love of Science through engaging and inspiring lessons.
- Participate in professional development and contribute to the wider school community.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Science education, preferably at Key Stage 5.
- Strong subject knowledge in Science, with a preference for Physics.
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate a team effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student success and high academic standards.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and leadership roles within a school.
- Familiarity with Ofsted standards and school improvement strategies.
- Experience with safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
- Ability to use technology to enhance teaching and learning.
