The Opportunity:

As a Science Teacher and KS5 Coordinator, you will play a key role in inspiring students and leading the development of the Science Faculty. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the delivery of Science teaching and learning across Key Stage 5.
  • Support the Head of Subject in driving continuous improvement in Science education.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to raise student achievement and engagement in Science.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and innovate in Science teaching.
  • Manage the curriculum and ensure it meets the highest standards and prepares students for further study.
  • Promote a love of Science through engaging and inspiring lessons.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the wider school community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Science education, preferably at Key Stage 5.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science, with a preference for Physics.
  • Proven ability to lead and coordinate a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student success and high academic standards.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and leadership roles within a school.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted standards and school improvement strategies.
  • Experience with safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
  • Ability to use technology to enhance teaching and learning.
