The Opportunity:
As a Science Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality Science education and inspiring students to achieve their full potential. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that improve attainment and support colleagues to meet high standards of teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging Science lessons that motivate and inspire students.
- Support colleagues in improving teaching standards and ensuring consistency across the department.
- Monitor and track the progress of key contextual groups, implementing targeted strategies to close achievement gaps.
- Develop and implement effective teaching methods that promote student learning and achievement.
- Work closely with students to instill a love of Science and a desire to learn.
- Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to enhance the overall learning experience.
- Participate in staff development and training opportunities to maintain and improve teaching practice.
- Contribute to the school’s culture by upholding its values and supporting a positive, inclusive environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and a valid teaching qualification.
- Proven experience in Science teaching at the secondary level.
- Commitment to academic excellence and student success.
- Strong subject knowledge in Science with the ability to deliver engaging lessons.
- Experience in monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to improve attainment.
Preferred
- Experience in supporting colleagues and leading professional development.
- Familiarity with curriculum design and assessment strategies.
- Experience with teaching students with special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in a school with a strong values-based ethos.
