The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging Science lessons that motivate and inspire students.
• Support colleagues in improving teaching standards and ensuring consistency across the department.
• Monitor and track the progress of key contextual groups, implementing targeted strategies to close achievement gaps.
• Develop and implement effective teaching methods that promote student learning and achievement.
• Work closely with students to instill a love of Science and a desire to learn.
• Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to enhance the overall learning experience.
• Participate in staff development and training opportunities to maintain and improve teaching practice.
• Contribute to the school’s culture by upholding its values and supporting a positive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and a valid teaching qualification.
• Proven experience in Science teaching at the secondary level.
• Commitment to academic excellence and student success.
• Strong subject knowledge in Science with the ability to deliver engaging lessons.
• Experience in monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to improve attainment.

Preferred

• Experience in supporting colleagues and leading professional development.
• Familiarity with curriculum design and assessment strategies.
• Experience with teaching students with special educational needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
