The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Science lessons to Key Stage 5 students.
  • Support the development of students' scientific knowledge, skills, and understanding.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver a cohesive Science curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of the Science team.
  • Maintain and manage Science laboratory resources and equipment.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Science education and pedagogy.
  • Support extracurricular Science activities and events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Science education.
  • Ability to teach Science to Key Stage 5 students.
  • Commitment to inclusive and student-centered teaching.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a school setting, with ECTs welcome to apply.

Preferred

  • Experience in a Church school or similar educational environment.
  • Background in curriculum development or leadership within a Science department.
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
