The Opportunity:

We are seeking an inspiring Science Teacher to make a meaningful impact on students aged 11–19. This role is ideal for someone passionate about delivering engaging Science lessons and supporting students with diverse needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the educational experience of young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging Science lessons for individuals and small groups up to GCSE level
  • Contribute to nurture-based programmes that support students’ social, emotional and academic development
  • Monitor, record, and report on student progress, ensuring personalised learning pathways
  • Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Plans
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and well-organised classroom environment with appropriate resources
  • Work collaboratively with LSAs, tutors, care staff and multi-professional colleagues
  • Support students in developing self-regulation, independence, and positive behaviour
  • Contribute to whole-school development, safeguarding practice, and the wider School Development Plan

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Ability to teach Science up to GCSE level
  • Commitment to safeguarding and high standards of education
  • Experience working with young people with additional needs or challenging behaviour (desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-professional team

Preferred

  • Experience in developing individualised learning plans
  • Experience with behaviour management strategies
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
  • Experience with therapeutic support or life skills training
