The Opportunity:
As SENCo, you will lead and coordinate SEND provision across both sites, ensuring that every pupil receives the tailored support they need to thrive. This role offers the chance to shape high-quality SEND practice and work closely with a wide range of professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate SEND provision, including EHCP processes, Annual Reviews, and compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.
- Track and analyse pupil progress, overseeing targeted intervention programmes in literacy and numeracy.
- Organise and chair ePEP meetings for looked after children, ensuring effective use of Pupil Premium Plus funding.
- Provide strategic leadership on SEND policy, Teaching & Learning development, and the graduated approach.
- Maintain strong communication with parents, carers, staff, and external agencies, ensuring smooth transitions and accurate records.
- Identify staff training needs and contribute to the school’s CPD plan, supporting inclusive teaching practices.
- Ensure learning environments and curriculum materials meet pupils’ needs and reflect their backgrounds and cultures.
- Contribute to whole-school planning and reporting, including the SEN Information Report and annual SEN improvement plan.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Qualified SENCO or working towards the qualification with strong experience in SEND leadership
- Excellent knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and statutory responsibilities
- Driving licence required
Preferred
- Experience working with autistic young people and those with complex needs
- Experience in leading and coordinating SEND provision across multiple sites
- Experience with ePEPs and Annual Reviews
- Experience in developing and implementing targeted intervention programmes
