The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join a dynamic department and contribute to the academic and pastoral life of the school. The role involves teaching Science across multiple key stages, with the opportunity to develop students’ scientific knowledge and skills in an inspiring environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Science to Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, including general Science, combined and separate Science qualifications.
- Deliver engaging and challenging lessons that cater to a wide range of abilities.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the Science curriculum.
- Support students’ academic, pastoral, and co-curricular development.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and science technicians to enhance the learning experience.
- Maintain high standards of teaching and student progress.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training, and planning sessions.
- Encourage a culture of curiosity, inquiry, and scientific thinking.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Science or a related subject.
- Experience teaching Science at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 (desirable).
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver high-quality lessons.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student welfare and pastoral care.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience with Early Career Teacher (ECT) development or support.
- Experience in a co-educational setting.
- Familiarity with state-of-the-art Science facilities and equipment.
- Strong record of student engagement and academic achievement.
