Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging Science lessons that meet curriculum requirements and inspire student interest.
  • Develop and implement creative teaching strategies to support student progress and achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student performance, providing constructive feedback to help learners reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to departmental and whole-school initiatives.
  • Support the school’s commitment to professional development by participating in training and reflective practice.
  • Engage with parents and the wider community to promote Science education and student success.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of extra-curricular Science activities and events.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attainment in line with school policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Science.
  • Experience in teaching Science at the appropriate level.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.

Preferred

  • Experience with innovative teaching methods or technology in Science education.
  • Background in curriculum development or leadership within a Science department.
  • Experience in working with students of diverse abilities and backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with the Wade Deacon Trust and its values.
