Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality A-Level Criminology lessons that inspire and challenge students.
  • Develop and implement engaging and innovative teaching strategies.
  • Support student achievement and ensure a positive learning experience.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the department.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as needed.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of Criminology and incorporate them into teaching.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular activities and events.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Criminology or a related subject.
  • Strong knowledge of A-Level Criminology curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Proven ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  • Commitment to student success and a passion for teaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a further education or sixth form setting.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and leading Criminology courses.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
  • Strong record of student achievement and progression.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
