Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective BTEC (RQF) Applied Science lessons in Chemistry and Physics.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through personalized teaching and learning strategies.
  • Develop and implement practical and theory-based learning activities that align with curriculum requirements.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure consistent achievement and improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the department.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and attendance.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Relevant teaching experience in Applied Science, with a focus on Chemistry and Physics.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Applied Science, particularly in Chemistry and Physics.
  • Experience in delivering BTEC (RQF) qualifications or similar vocational programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and inclusion.

Preferred

  • Experience in further education or sixth form teaching.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience with curriculum design and assessment strategies.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
