Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons that engage and challenge students across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student progress and achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student performance regularly, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery and share best practices.
  • Support the development of students’ scientific skills and curiosity through practical and theoretical learning.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
  • Engage in professional development and stay up to date with current educational research and trends in Science teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Science or a related subject.
  • Relevant teaching experience, preferably in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science with the ability to teach across key stages.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and students.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching in a school with a strong pastoral and extra-curricular focus.
  • Experience of working with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience of using technology to enhance Science teaching and learning.
  • Leadership experience or an interest in mentoring other teachers.
