The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher with a specialism in Chemistry to join a vibrant and successful department. The role involves teaching across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with a focus on delivering high-quality lessons that inspire a love of science in students. The successful candidate will contribute to a department known for strong academic results and a commitment to student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Science, with a focus on Chemistry at Key Stage 5
- Support students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 in achieving their full potential
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that promote student learning and engagement
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and support
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental practices and curriculum development
- Participate in extracurricular activities and trips that enrich students’ learning experiences
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Contribute to the wider school community through staff development and pastoral care initiatives
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Science, preferably with experience teaching Chemistry at A Level
- Proven ability to deliver Science lessons at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to student-centred teaching and fostering a love of learning
- Experience in promoting inclusivity and supporting students of all abilities
Preferred
- Experience in delivering A Level Chemistry
- Background in extra-curricular science activities or STEM initiatives
- Experience with BTEC qualifications or vocational pathways
- Familiarity with the school’s values of respect, equality, and aspiration
