The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher with a specialism in Chemistry to join a vibrant and successful department. The role involves teaching across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with a focus on delivering high-quality lessons that inspire a love of science in students. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Science, with a focus on Chemistry at Key Stage 5
  • Support students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 in achieving their full potential
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that promote student learning and engagement
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and support
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental practices and curriculum development
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and trips that enrich students’ learning experiences
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
  • Contribute to the wider school community through staff development and pastoral care initiatives

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Science, preferably with experience teaching Chemistry at A Level
  • Proven ability to deliver Science lessons at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to student-centred teaching and fostering a love of learning
  • Experience in promoting inclusivity and supporting students of all abilities

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering A Level Chemistry
  • Background in extra-curricular science activities or STEM initiatives
  • Experience with BTEC qualifications or vocational pathways
  • Familiarity with the school’s values of respect, equality, and aspiration
