Science Technician needed to support a dynamic Science department at a school in East London.

The Opportunity:
A Science Technician is required to support the Science department in delivering high-quality teaching and learning. This role involves preparing resources, maintaining equipment, and assisting with practical lessons. The successful candidate will be a key member of a dedicated team committed to student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain equipment, materials, and resources for practical lessons
- Ensure all apparatus is in good working order and safely stored
- Assist staff with demonstrations and classroom practical activities
- Provide administrative support to support the smooth running of the department
- Contribute to wider school responsibilities, including First Aid and student escorting
- Support the delivery of Science curriculum across all key stages
- Collaborate with departmental staff to ensure consistency and quality in teaching resources
- Stay updated with developments in Science and incorporate new ideas into practice
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong knowledge of Science and laboratory practices
- Experience in a school or educational setting
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to student and staff support
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Experience in a Science laboratory environment
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in schools
- Experience with administrative tasks and record-keeping
- Experience with First Aid or similar roles
- Previous experience in a secondary school setting
