The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a Visiting Music Teacher - Clarinet and Saxophone to join its team. This role offers a flexible teaching schedule, starting with approximately 5 hours per week, and the potential to expand based on availability. The successful candidate will contribute to the school’s commitment to musical excellence and student development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach clarinet and saxophone to students of all ages and abilities.
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that inspire a love of music.
  • Support students in developing technical and performance skills.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Music and other staff to enhance the music program.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
  • Participate in school events and performances as required.
  • Provide individual and group instruction tailored to student needs.
  • Stay up to date with current teaching practices and music pedagogy.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified music teacher with experience in clarinet and saxophone instruction.
  • Strong knowledge of music theory and performance techniques.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching in a school or educational setting.
  • Familiarity with music curriculum and assessment standards.
  • Experience with instrumental teaching and ensemble work.
