As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the science department by ensuring the smooth operation of laboratory equipment and resources. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain science laboratory equipment and resources to support teaching and learning.
- Prepare and organize materials for science lessons and experiments.
- Assist in the safe disposal of hazardous waste and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Support the teaching staff with practical science sessions and demonstrations.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory and consumables.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum and student engagement.
- Ensure all laboratory areas are clean, safe, and in good working order.
- Provide technical support during science-related events and trips.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A good standard of education, preferably to level 3.
- A willingness to learn and develop skills relevant to the science department.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Background in science or related field.
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and best practices.
