The Opportunity:

As an Electronics and Physics Laboratory Technician, you will support the delivery of high-quality practical learning experiences for students from Years 9 to 13. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for both electronics and physics, and who is eager to help manage a busy and well-equipped laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the school’s electronics and physics laboratories, ensuring they are safe, functional, and ready for use.
  • Assist in the organisation and delivery of practical classes for both GCSE and A-level students.
  • Support teaching staff with the setup, operation, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all laboratory activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, repairs, and consumables.
  • Collaborate with the department to develop and implement practical learning resources.
  • Provide technical support during lessons and examinations.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in electronics and physics education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in electronics and physics laboratory work.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to health and safety standards in a laboratory setting.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software relevant to electronics and physics.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of teaching methods and curriculum requirements for electronics and physics.
  • Experience with GCSE and A-level practical assessments.
  • Familiarity with laboratory management systems.
  • A background in education or a related field.
