The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Science Technician to support the Science department in preparing equipment and materials for teaching and learning. This role offers the chance to contribute to a dynamic and supportive environment, while gaining valuable experience and training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and materials for Science lessons
- Assist with the safe and effective use of laboratory resources
- Support the delivery of practical Science activities across all key stages
- Maintain accurate records of equipment and consumables
- Collaborate with Science teachers to ensure resources meet curriculum requirements
- Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment in the Science department
- Undertake routine maintenance and cleaning of laboratory areas
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- No formal experience required; full training will be provided
- Commitment to working in a supportive and inclusive school environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work flexibly within a part-time, term-time only schedule
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
- Previous experience in a Science or educational support role
- Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures and best practices
- Experience with practical Science teaching or support
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £8,654.34 to £8,791.69 per annum
- Part-time, term-time only position (15 hours per week)
