The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Science Technician to support the Science department in preparing equipment and materials for teaching and learning. This role offers the chance to contribute to a dynamic and supportive environment, while gaining valuable experience and training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and materials for Science lessons
  • Assist with the safe and effective use of laboratory resources
  • Support the delivery of practical Science activities across all key stages
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment and consumables
  • Collaborate with Science teachers to ensure resources meet curriculum requirements
  • Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment in the Science department
  • Undertake routine maintenance and cleaning of laboratory areas
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • No formal experience required; full training will be provided
  • Commitment to working in a supportive and inclusive school environment
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work flexibly within a part-time, term-time only schedule
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a Science or educational support role
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures and best practices
  • Experience with practical Science teaching or support
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £8,654.34 to £8,791.69 per annum
  • Part-time, term-time only position (15 hours per week)
