The Opportunity:

As a Seasonal Grounds Staff member, you will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of a school’s extensive grounds and sports facilities, ensuring they are in excellent condition throughout the season. This role is ideal for someone who is reliable, adaptable, and committed to delivering high standards of care and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain artificial and synthetic playing surfaces to ensure they meet the highest standards.
• Mark and overmark sports areas, including football pitches, cricket squares, and athletic tracks.
• Assist with the upkeep and presentation of all playing surfaces and surrounding areas.
• Ensure the proper management, storage, and maintenance of grounds equipment and machinery.
• Assemble and dismantle sports equipment as required to support school activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Full, clean UK driving licence
• Practical experience in grounds maintenance
• Strong understanding of current Health and Safety legislation, particularly regarding the safe handling, storage, and use of pesticides and similar substances
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Good standard of written and spoken English

Preferred

• Experience with sports pitch maintenance
• Knowledge of grounds equipment and machinery
• Previous experience in a similar role within an educational or sports setting
