The Opportunity:
A Second in Maths is sought to lead and support the department in delivering a world-class Mathematics curriculum. This role is ideal for an experienced and passionate educator who is committed to raising standards and inspiring both students and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a Mathematics Mastery curriculum that promotes deep understanding and engagement.
- Collaborate with the Head of Maths and department to enhance teaching and learning practices.
- Lead and support professional development opportunities for staff across the school and department.
- Source, develop, and share high-quality resources and strategies for Mathematics teaching.
- Continuously update subject knowledge and pedagogical approaches to ensure best practice.
- Monitor and evaluate pupil progress to ensure sustained attainment and improvement.
- Promote a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the department.
- Support the wider school community through shared leadership and collaboration.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Degree in a relevant subject.
- PGCE or equivalent qualification.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified to Work in Secondary Schools (QTLS).
Preferred
- Recent inset in subject-related issues.
- A relevant professionally recognised leadership qualification (e.g. NCSL LFTM, Leadership Pathways, NPQ) or willingness to undertake one.
