The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a Secondary Cover Supervisor to join its team for August 2026. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and supportive educational environment, while supporting students across a range of subjects and contributing to the school’s vibrant community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching and learning across the Secondary School, covering for absent teachers in a variety of subjects.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the English National Curriculum.
  • Engage students in a supportive and enriched classroom environment, contributing to their academic and personal development.
  • Act as a pastoral tutor, providing guidance and support to students.
  • Participate actively in the school’s Extracurricular programme, including events and competitions.
  • Contribute to the House system, supporting allocated House activities and events.
  • Provide constructive feedback and assessment to students, in line with school standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and positive learning experience for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Recognised teaching qualifications.
  • Experience using the English National Curriculum.
  • Experience teaching English, Maths, and/or Science (other subjects considered).
  • A good understanding of personalised learning, feedback, and assessment.
  • A passion for developing the whole child in a supportive and enriched classroom environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with pastoral tutoring.
  • Experience in the House system or event organisation.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and growth.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
