The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Secondary Geography Teacher to join the Humanities Department. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Geography and Humanities lessons to post-16 students and IB Diploma candidates.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student engagement and academic success.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and assessment strategies.
  • Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and colleagues to support student progress and well-being.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events that enhance the educational experience.
  • Stay updated with current geographical and environmental issues, integrating them into the curriculum.
  • Support the school’s mission of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the Humanities Department and the school as a whole.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good honours degree and teaching qualification in Geography or a related subject.
  • Proven experience teaching Geography to post-16 level and IB Diploma students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A successful record of achievement and performance in a teaching role.

Preferred

  • Experience working in an international or overseas school setting.
  • Familiarity with the IB Diploma Programme.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL/TEFL).
  • Strategic thinking and leadership experience within an educational context.
