The Opportunity:
As a Secondary Spanish Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging and effective lessons that inspire students to achieve their full potential. You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality Spanish instruction, supporting student progress, and contributing to the school's educational mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that promote student progress and achievement in Spanish.
- Set clear learning objectives and use a variety of teaching methods to meet the needs of all students.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting targets for improvement.
- Identify and support students with special educational needs and those for whom English is an additional language.
- Maintain high standards of work, homework, and classroom organization.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of subject policies and curriculum planning.
- Support the school’s improvement plan and participate in staff development and professional growth opportunities.
- Ensure a safe and respectful learning environment, upholding school rules and promoting student well-being.
- Communicate regularly with parents and provide accurate, honest information about student progress.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Education
- Postgraduate Diploma in Education
- UK teaching qualification with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Minimum of 2 years’ full-time teaching experience in Key Stage 4
- Proven ability to deliver excellent outcomes at IGCSE level
Preferred
- Experience teaching A Level or IBDP courses in an international school setting
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for England and associated assessment methods
- Experience with teaching English as an additional language
- Leadership and management experience in curriculum or team leadership roles
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of IT competency
