Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs through tailored teaching and learning.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that focus on literacy, numeracy, and reading skills.
  • Work closely with support staff and leaders to ensure students achieve academic and personal growth.
  • Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes well-being and resilience.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to develop holistic support plans for students.
  • Maintain accurate records and report student progress regularly.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training to enhance teaching practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in SEMH or special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a classroom effectively and support students with complex needs.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Experience in teaching core subjects at Key Stage 3.

Preferred

  • Experience in alternative provision settings.
  • Knowledge of literacy and numeracy intervention strategies.
  • Experience with behavior management and emotional support techniques.
  • Familiarity with the curriculum and assessment frameworks.
