The Opportunity:

A SEN Nurture Teacher - Food Technology is needed to support pupils with diverse needs in a structured and nurturing environment. This role is ideal for someone passionate about education and making a meaningful impact in a supportive and inclusive setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties through a nurturing approach
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including therapists and specialist agencies
  • Develop and implement individual education plans in line with pupil needs and goals
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being through structured and supportive teaching
  • Maintain accurate records and report progress to parents and carers
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities
  • Work closely with families to ensure consistent support for pupils

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in SEN education
  • Experience teaching Food Technology or related subjects
  • Understanding of nurture principles and inclusive teaching strategies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a supportive environment

Preferred

  • Experience working with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties
  • Knowledge of Educational Health Care Plans
  • Experience in a multi-disciplinary team setting
  • Familiarity with therapeutic interventions such as play, music, or art therapy
