The Opportunity:
A SEN Nurture Teacher - Food Technology is needed to support pupils with diverse needs in a structured and nurturing environment. This role is ideal for someone passionate about education and making a meaningful impact in a supportive and inclusive setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons tailored to individual learning needs
- Support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties through a nurturing approach
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including therapists and specialist agencies
- Develop and implement individual education plans in line with pupil needs and goals
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being through structured and supportive teaching
- Maintain accurate records and report progress to parents and carers
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities
- Work closely with families to ensure consistent support for pupils
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in SEN education
- Experience teaching Food Technology or related subjects
- Understanding of nurture principles and inclusive teaching strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a supportive environment
Preferred
- Experience working with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties
- Knowledge of Educational Health Care Plans
- Experience in a multi-disciplinary team setting
- Familiarity with therapeutic interventions such as play, music, or art therapy
