The Opportunity:

As an SEN Science Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging and differentiated Science lessons to students aged 6–25. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality Science lessons tailored to individual needs and learning profiles.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support communication, sensory regulation, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, external professionals, and families to monitor student progress and maintain accurate pupil profiles.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and whole-school initiatives to ensure Science remains accessible and meaningful for all learners.
  • Maintain positive classroom behaviour using a relationship-centred, supportive approach.
  • Participate in professional development and training to enhance teaching practice and support colleagues.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong Science specialism with the ability to teach Science across Key Stages 2–4.
  • Experience working with students with SEND, particularly those with Autism and/or Dyslexia.
  • Proven ability to differentiate learning and adapt teaching to individual needs.
  • Confident classroom management based on positive relationships and consistency.
  • A collaborative and reflective approach to working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, wellbeing, and holistic education.

Preferred

  • Experience or ability to teach across a range of key stages.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and a strong team-player attitude.
  • Passion for teaching and a commitment to supporting pupils with diverse needs.
