The Opportunity:

As a SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, developing tailored lesson plans, and fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized teaching plans to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Collaborate with school counselors, therapists, and parents to support student development and socialization.
• Modify curriculum and lesson plans to accommodate students with mild to moderate disabilities.
• Provide in-class and one-on-one support to students in English and Math, ensuring access to the curriculum.
• Conduct assessments and create Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Work closely with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals as needed.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and progress reports.
• Support students with emotional and behavioral challenges while promoting social skills development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area and recognized teaching qualification.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with students with special educational needs.
• Excellent command of English.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and build rapport with students and families.

Preferred

• Special education certification or working towards certification.
• Experience with assistive technology and students with autism or learning difficulties.
• Knowledge of computers and applicable software.
• Experience in creating and implementing behavior management strategies.
