The Opportunity:
As an SEN Teacher, you will be instrumental in creating a high-quality, inclusive learning environment that supports students in achieving their full potential. You will deliver engaging, personalised teaching that raises standards and promotes positive outcomes for all learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching across a range of subjects within the secondary curriculum, using resources effectively to secure strong progress and achievement.
- Work collaboratively with the Headteacher to support curriculum development and take on additional agreed responsibilities to ensure effective delivery.
- Adapt teaching flexibly to meet individual needs, including teaching beyond your main subject area where required.
- Promote pupils’ personal development and wellbeing, supporting their social, emotional and academic growth.
- Uphold safeguarding and professional standards, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and all school policies.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including administrative responsibilities, specific areas of leadership, and additional duties as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- UK QTS or equivalent
- Experience in teaching students with special educational needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
Preferred
- Experience in delivering vocational or practical learning pathways
- Experience with SEMH or autism
- Leadership or team collaboration experience
- Experience in curriculum development
