A school is dedicated to providing inclusive education for students aged 7-19 with a wide range of additional needs, including speech and language difficulties and sensory regulation challenges.

The Opportunity:

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering individualised and engaging lessons tailored to students with complex needs. You will lead a class team and collaborate with professionals to ensure a consistent, person-centred approach to teaching and care.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver individualised lessons that consider cognitive, communication, and sensory profiles.
Lead and manage a class team to ensure a consistent and person-centred approach across the day.
Collaborate with therapists and other professionals to embed therapeutic strategies into daily teaching.
Use augmentative and alternative communication systems (AAC) including high-tech and low-tech solutions.
Build strong relationships with families and support home-school communication.
Contribute to annual reviews and Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) processes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

Qualified teacher with proven SEN experience, ideally in a special school setting.
Extensive experience with AAC systems – both high-tech and low-tech.
Experience teaching students with complex and severe learning needs and managing behaviours using PBS principles.
Skilled in multidisciplinary collaboration and embedding therapeutic strategies into teaching.
Ability to lead, inspire, and support a class team to deliver high-quality, consistent care and education.

Preferred

Confidence in working with parents/carers and supporting EHCP processes.
