Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in English Literature and Language up to GCSE.
  • Support students in developing strong literacy and analytical skills.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of the English Department.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and enhance the school’s high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students where appropriate.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly.
  • Stay up to date with current educational trends and best practices in teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience of teaching or ability to teach GCSE English Literature and Language to a high standard.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Flexibility and willingness to contribute to all areas of school life.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Drama.
  • Demonstrable success in improving student outcomes.
  • Experience working in a small school or similar environment.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
