Summary:

The Opportunity:

As a SEN Teacher Key Stage 3, you will deliver a modified curriculum tailored to students with speech, language, and communication needs. You will work in a team with therapists and support staff to provide high-quality, individualised learning experiences for small groups of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a modified KS3 curriculum using multisensory teaching methods.
  • Support students with speech, language, and communication difficulties in a small group setting.
  • Collaborate with Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Learning Support Assistants.
  • Promote positive behaviour and create a nurturing environment for students.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Manage challenging behaviour with patience and professionalism.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attainment.
  • Participate in staff training and development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant teaching qualification and experience.
  • Experience delivering a modified KS3 curriculum for students with SLCN.
  • Excellent communication and English skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships.
  • Proven ability to manage small groups of students with complex needs.
  • Commitment to working in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Experience with behaviour management strategies.
  • Knowledge of speech and language therapy techniques.
  • Familiarity with multisensory teaching approaches.
