The Opportunity:
As a SEN Teacher Key Stage 3, you will deliver a modified curriculum tailored to students with speech, language, and communication needs. You will work in a team with therapists and support staff to provide high-quality, individualised learning experiences for small groups of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a modified KS3 curriculum using multisensory teaching methods.
- Support students with speech, language, and communication difficulties in a small group setting.
- Collaborate with Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Learning Support Assistants.
- Promote positive behaviour and create a nurturing environment for students.
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Manage challenging behaviour with patience and professionalism.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attainment.
- Participate in staff training and development opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant teaching qualification and experience.
- Experience delivering a modified KS3 curriculum for students with SLCN.
- Excellent communication and English skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships.
- Proven ability to manage small groups of students with complex needs.
- Commitment to working in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Preferred
- Experience working with students with special educational needs.
- Experience with behaviour management strategies.
- Knowledge of speech and language therapy techniques.
- Familiarity with multisensory teaching approaches.
