As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students with complex needs in a structured and nurturing environment. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of pupils and helping them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher or tutor to deliver high-quality teaching and learning for all pupils
  • Assist in the implementation of relevant education policies and procedures
  • Provide tailored support to pupils on an individual or small-group basis to help them access the curriculum as independently as possible
  • Promote pupils’ physical, educational and moral development in line with organisational values
  • Help organise and maintain the classroom environment to create a stimulating and supportive learning space
  • Ensure equipment and resources are used safely and efficiently, reporting any maintenance issues as required
  • Support the teacher or tutor in contributing to, updating and implementing pupil documentation
  • Work effectively with colleagues to support pupils with autistic spectrum disorder and other additional needs

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with pupils with complex needs or autism
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and support teachers in delivering lessons
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils

Preferred

  • Experience in an educational setting, ideally within special needs
  • Knowledge of Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Support Profiles
  • Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and classroom management
