As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex needs to reach their full potential. You will work closely with pupils, teachers, and support staff to create a positive, safe, and stimulating learning environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with complex needs in their learning and general wellbeing
  • Assist in managing positive behaviour and promoting independence
  • Contribute to the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum
  • Establish warm, caring relationships with pupils to support their emotional and academic development
  • Provide tailored support to meet individual learning and care needs
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure a consistent and supportive approach
  • Adapt to changing needs and responsibilities as required
  • Maintain high expectations of behaviour and support pupils in developing self-regulation skills

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE Maths and English at Level 2/C or above
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures
  • Experience working with students with SEN or SEMH/ASD
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic environment
  • Commitment to putting the child first and treating them as an individual

Preferred

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car
  • Level 2 or above qualification in Support work for Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Experience in an SEN setting, either employed or voluntary
