Key Responsibilities:

  • Support learners in academic, emotional, and social development
  • Assist with coursework, revision, and study skills
  • Help learners prepare for lessons and complete assignments
  • Encourage independence and self-regulation
  • Promote confidence in essay writing and exam preparation
  • Provide individualised support tailored to learner needs
  • Collaborate with staff to implement positive behaviour strategies
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and training

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young people

Preferred

  • Experience working with autistic young people or individuals with additional needs
  • Previous experience in a teaching or learning support role
  • Familiarity with the national curriculum and alternative qualifications such as BTEC and GCSE
  • Experience in delivering social skills or wellbeing programmes
