The Opportunity:

As the SENCo Primary, you will play a vital role in shaping the school’s approach to special educational needs. This position offers the chance to lead and coordinate provision that supports students with SEN or a disability, ensuring they receive the care and education they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the school’s SEN policy, ensuring it meets the needs of all students.
• Coordinate the provision of support for individual pupils with SEN or a disability.
• Provide guidance and support to teaching staff, parents, and external agencies.
• Promote inclusive teaching practices that engage and motivate all students.
• Manage and monitor the progress of students with SEN, ensuring consistent and effective support.
• Work closely with the leadership team to shape strategic development in SEN provision.
• Deliver professional development opportunities for staff to enhance SEN support.
• Ensure systems and procedures are in place to support the academic and personal growth of all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A recognised educational degree, such as a Bachelor's in Education or an equivalent qualification.
• A certified teaching qualification, such as a PGCE or QTS with an Early Career Teaching Certificate.
• Extensive experience teaching the National Curriculum of England.
• Strong subject knowledge and experience in special educational needs support.

Preferred

• A National Award for SEN Coordination or equivalent.
• Experience in developing and managing SEN policies and provision.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Experience working with diverse student populations and families.
