Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the needs of students with complex needs and challenging behaviours
- Work with small groups and individual students to support their learning and development
- Prepare teaching resources, manage behaviour, and maintain accurate records and reports
- Support students in building confidence, independence, and a love for learning
- Communicate regularly with parents and carers to update them on student progress
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to student needs
- Stay up to date with best practices in special educational needs and inclusive teaching
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)
- Minimum of two years’ experience working in a SEND environment or similar provision
- Strong commitment to working with students with special educational needs
- Experience in planning and delivering inclusive teaching strategies
Preferred
- Specialism in Mathematics, Science (Physics, Biology, Chemistry), or Humanities
- Experience with behaviour management in a SEND setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in preparing teaching materials and writing reports
- Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection procedures
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £28,288 - £44,304
