Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the needs of students with complex needs and challenging behaviours
  • Work with small groups and individual students to support their learning and development
  • Prepare teaching resources, manage behaviour, and maintain accurate records and reports
  • Support students in building confidence, independence, and a love for learning
  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers to update them on student progress
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to student needs
  • Stay up to date with best practices in special educational needs and inclusive teaching
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working in a SEND environment or similar provision
  • Strong commitment to working with students with special educational needs
  • Experience in planning and delivering inclusive teaching strategies

Preferred

  • Specialism in Mathematics, Science (Physics, Biology, Chemistry), or Humanities
  • Experience with behaviour management in a SEND setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in preparing teaching materials and writing reports
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection procedures
