The Opportunity:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with special educational needs, helping them achieve their academic and personal goals. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a meaningful impact in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group teaching support to students with special educational needs.
- Assist in the implementation of Educational Health Care Plans and Individual Education Programmes.
- Support the SENDCO with resource preparation and display creation to ensure effective adaptations.
- Maintain strong communication with families and provide regular updates on student progress.
- Reinforce behaviour policies and encourage independent and collaborative learning.
- Assist students who are unwell and provide basic first aid when necessary.
- Participate in in-service training and attend staff meetings as required.
- Uphold a positive, supportive attitude and promote the school’s ethos and policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with students with special educational needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to supporting students’ academic and personal development.
- Basic first aid knowledge.
Preferred
- Experience in education or a related field.
- Familiarity with Educational Health Care Plans and Individual Education Programmes.
- Experience working with Speech Therapists or Educational Psychologists.
- Flexibility to work both part-time and full-time.
