The Opportunity:
As a SEND Year Team Leader - HLTA, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities. You will lead and coordinate a team of Learning Support Assistants, ensuring effective in-class support and collaboration across pastoral and academic departments. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the work of Learning Support Assistants within a specific Year group.
- Maintain regular communication with the Pastoral Head of Year to adapt support strategies based on student needs.
- Liaise with Heads of Curriculum and Subject departments to ensure effective SEND support across the school.
- Deliver targeted interventions to help students develop independence skills.
- Ensure consistent and effective timetabling of in-class support for students with SEND.
- Monitor and report on the progress of students receiving support.
- Support the development of inclusive learning environments.
- Provide guidance and training to Learning Support Assistants as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant experience in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Experience in a leadership or team management role.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teaching and support staff.
- Commitment to inclusive education and student well-being.
- HLTA qualification or equivalent.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of SEND policies and procedures.
- Experience with curriculum planning and delivery.
- Experience in providing targeted interventions for students with additional needs.
- Familiarity with the use of educational software and tools.
